None of this happens without you!
CRBLT events provide an excellent opportunity for the community to come together to learn first hand about our conservation efforts — through hands on volunteering, educational events, and member celebrations. We also show up at partner events, which helps create connections and build relationships. Be sure to stay up to date on upcoming events by signing up for our eNews.
Bird/Bat/Owl Walk
During this free community hike, join CRBLT & Firecraft Northwest to meander the open fields, riverbanks & forests of Discovery Trail — a wildlife hotspot! Early in the walk, we’ll look and listen for a variety of birds, learning some foundational concepts of bird identification. Then, as dusk sets in, we’ll search for owls & their signs, while learning about the various species of owls in our region. If we’re lucky, we may also see bats & discuss bat behavior, their habitats, & the species that visit our area.
We’ll cover about 1.5-2 miles, depending on what we hear & see. Generally, these walks are very slow. The trail is an out & back, mostly on flat mowed grass or dirt.
