Tree Planting Work Party

  • Chehalis River Discovery Trail 1545 Goodrich Road Centralia, WA, 98531 United States (map)

Event Description

Every winter, the Chehalis Land Trust Team plants trees along the river at Discovery Trail to help support the reinvigoration of this critical habitat! We’ve partnered up with Lewis County Stream Team and received an incredible native tree donation from Grays Harbor Conservation District for this effort!

The session’s work will include removing invasive thistles, invasive canary grass, scouting tree locations, learning tree species, digging and planting bare root trees, and collaring saplings for protection.

Where should I park?

The gate will be open so you may drive in along the curved road and park next to the big red barn, or you are welcome to park at the main Discovery Trail parking lot, about 1/2 mile before the trailhead if you’d like some extra mileage!

How will I find the group?

We’ll meet next to the old red barn under the covered area with benches!

What should I bring on this outing?

  • Comfortable footwear

  • Layers for rain and various weather conditions to stay cozy

  • Water, beverages and/or snacks

This event is free and open to the public! All ages are welcome, but children in attendance must be accompanied by an adult or parent.

It’s always helpful to know if you’ll be joining us! Please RSVP for the event with the form below:
