During this free field session at Chehalis River Discovery Trail we invite you to follow along with Wildlife Tracker & Outdoor Educator, Ryan Johnson from Firecraft Northwest, to discuss and observe the tracks and signs we find along the paths and trails of this beautiful conservation area. Early in the walk, we’ll look and listen for a variety of birds, learning some foundational concepts of bird identification. Then, as dusk sets in, we’ll search for owls & their signs, while learning about the various species of owls in our region. If we’re lucky, we may also see bats & discuss bat behavior, their habitats, & the species that visit our area. We’ll cover about 1.5-2 miles, depending on what we hear & see.
