   The annual membership dinner meeting was held on March 19th and a good time was had by all.  As

usual, the food was excellent and plentiful.  Several presentations from school groups and teachers

informed us of the environmental actions taking place around the area (Centralia High School, Rochester

Middle School and Grand Mound Elementary.  Short presentations from Land Trust Board members Janet

Strong and Lori Gartland were followed by many door prizes.

The December 2010 restoration project on the Discovery Trail included many students, teachers and local volunteers. The weather and mud were a challenge, but the project may be termed a success--over 1,000 new plants will help stabilize the river bank, shade the water and make the trail pleasant for visitors and wildlife.
